Cosmik is an independent software company operated by COSMIK LABS, LLC. This notice explains how information is handled when you visit cosmiklabs.org or contact Cosmik. The site currently provides project information and does not offer user accounts, payments, or file uploads.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare. These providers process technical information needed to serve and protect the site. GitHub states that it logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, traffic routing information, system configuration information, and other request data as part of its network and security services.
These hosting and security activities are separate from the browser analytics described below. Provider policies explain their own handling of this information, including retention and international processing.
Website analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is configured for automatic setup with the “Enable excluding EU” option. Where its browser beacon runs, it sends page usage and performance information, such as page and referrer URLs and loading timings, to Cloudflare to help understand site performance.
Cloudflare states that this beacon does not use cookies or browser storage. Its RUM service receives an IP address when handling the request, then discards it at the receiving data center rather than storing it in RUM databases or logs. This does not describe Cloudflare’s separate proxy and security processing.
The exclusion follows Cloudflare’s documented data-center routing rules. It is not a determination of a visitor’s residence or a guarantee that every visitor physically in the EU is excluded.
Contact and requests
If you email [email protected] or [email protected], Cosmik receives your address and the information you choose to send. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards these messages to a personal mailbox. This information is used to respond to your inquiry and address the matter you raise, and is handled through the services used to forward, receive, and reply to messages. Correspondence may be retained indefinitely; there is no routine deletion schedule.
You can use [email protected] for privacy questions or requests concerning your information. The response will depend on the information held and the rights that apply to your request.
Other websites and changes
Links to GitHub and other external websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. This notice applies to this website, not to those services or to the behavior of individual software projects. Changes to this notice will be reflected in the date above.
